The Uji River Road
Uji, Kyoto
About the Farmers:
The inspiration behind the name of this matcha comes from a road that winds alongside the mystical waters of the Uji River. That road leads to one of Japan's most celebrate tea regions, Uji, and to the Horii family, the farmers behind this matcha. The Horii family is led by Horii Chōjirō, the third generation owner. Chōjirō-san is serious yet deeply warm and kind. Each of our visit to his shop and farm come with multiple cups of tea and many laughs.

Description:
'The Uij River Road' combines both sweet and umami notes perfectly, a rarity. When whisked hot, you can find notes of sweet corn and dark chocolate. When shaken cold, there's a sharper sweetness reminiscent of almost stone fruit.
